DIY Hood w/ Power Compacts

I was going to make a hood for one of my tanks. One of the things I was thinking of doing was adding some power compact lighting on to it. Anyone have any experiece with this? Can I buy ballast and everything for the bulbs at Home Depot?

The tank is a 135 or something I think 3' tall, 3' wide' 2' deep, so it is pretty deep...this is why I was thinking the power compacts instead of just regular fluorescents. Is Power Compact a good way to go?

I've never seen a PC ballast at my Home Depot, nor the PC bulbs. When I upgraded, I purchased the ballasts and built the hoods to support them. Sorry--not much help.

Aquarium Hobbyist (http://www.ahsupply.com/) has very nice, very reasonable retrofit kits. I've never seen anything very useful at home depot.

BTW Does anyone know who made this tank? I was told that they were kind of popular a a while back, but arent made anymore.
