brown algae

I have had my 55 gallon tank set up for 3 weeks. I have 50 pounds of live rock and a marroon clownfish. The last couple of days I have noticed some brown stuff on some of the sand (Carib life aragonite) and a few of the pieces of live rock. The amount seems to have increased over the last few days. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should do about this? The algae is brown, and definately not like the reddish coraline algae on the live rock.

Sounds like you've got a problem with diatoms. Here's a site that should help you out...

Just took these yesterday, Sunday the 23rd, b4 I cleaned the tank (again). I hope this goes away soon...
