I just bought a nano tank (2.5 gallon) and removed the rims off it. I plan to get ADA Amazonia substrate and ADA rocks with HC and Blyxa Japonica. I currently have the tank on a table that is about 18 inches below a 38W 48 inch light. I don’t know whether to use this or to get a compact fluorescent desk light such as this http://salestores.com/sunpen61.html (http://salestores.com/sunpen61.html). Here are pictures of my set up and please let me know if I should upgrade or leave it the way it is. Thanks

More than likely you will need a light directed over the tank if you want any type of growth with HC.That color of light you got would look good mixed with a couple 6700 or 10,000

Oh and i would level that tank since especially since you derimmed an aga.

If i were you i'd go buy a cheap clip on lamp at lowes or home depot and get a compact florescent to go in there- just pay attention to the K rating. it'll look better and be more directed towards the tank giving better light intensity.
