I have an Iceberg Blue Cichlid (Sciamochromis Fryeri Maleri) of about 4 inches that has developed a cloudiness in his eyes. It almost appears as if he has scraped his eye lids on something and they have been scrached. He is eating well and acting normal. Any suggestions on this would be good.

how old is the fish in question? probably doesn't make that much difference but that is my shot in the dark

I have a ruby red peacock that sometimes this happens to its eye or eyes. Not sure what causes it, but i think its most likely from fighting or hitting it on a rock or something. SOme times his eye is jstu a bit cloudy and sometimes it worse and looks like he ripped it.

In both cases i jstu make sure that i keep the water quality perfect and he usually get better in a few days(eye is usually completely better and clear in a week). I have also used melafix to treat it and it seemed to help also.

So unless the eye looks really bad, like it has a infection and not jsut a bit cloudy then i wouldnt' worry too much.It should heal up by itself.
