Dead fish

I was having a problem with algae and decided to add a algae remover to the tank two days later my two sae were dead.Could this have caused them to die.My six angel fish are OK.

but at least you know it is an effective algae remover it even killed the algae removing fish, maybe its a mafia treatment and decided to whack the competition
