Stocking Suggestions

I'm looking for freshwater stocking suggestions for a 55 gallon long tank. I don't have the tank yet, but I think it'll be a good size for me. I've seen stocking suggestions on here before, but don't remember where they're at? Links would be fine, or if you've got something handy. I've managed a 7 1/2 gal for 4 years with guppies and mollys, etc. so I've got a basic knowledge of water and fish care, but I don't want anything too picky.

What do you guys think? Links? Ideas?

well a couple ideas. first you can stick with the small fish and do a lot of them. you could also do one or two bigger sized fish with more small fish or just larger fish. really so many options out there. i would go to the lfs and write down what you like and come back and research them.

If I had a 55gal (I wish i had the room for it in my apt) I would do an african cichlid tank. I just love the way those look. Or i'd get a couple groups of smaller fish, like tetras and rasboras then a stud centerpiece fish like a gourami or some german blue rams.

I agree with Mgamer20o0 about going to the store with the intention of just looking then coming back and researching what you like. Good luck and post some pics when the tank is up!
