I have a small volunteer plant. It has three leaves and each leave is about 1/8" in diameter. It floats and drops a 1/4" long root. It seems to propagate prolifically. Is this frog's bit?

Does it look like this? If so then it is frogbit.

No, it looks like the small plant in between your larger plants. Is that duckweed?

Is it a problem? Right now it covers about 10% of my aquarium and it is in the corners where it is not blocking light.

Under the right conditions it can very much become a problem with blocking light. Really it depends on if you like it or not as to whether you keep it, I must say though that it is great for using extra nutrients in the water column and will help keep algae down by doing this.

With decent surface agitation and manual removal you shouldn't have a problem. It really becomes a nuisance if you just let it run wild.
