I am getting 2 shelldwellers for my 10 gallon tank. My question is wich is the most aggressive and colorful shelldweller. Really looking for color but also want something to feed on the guppy fry I give it.

most of the nicer ones are really hard to get not sure of the names i will try to find a site i had saved before had a lot of info there

If you want aggresive and colorful i would suggest a pair of L.ocellatus "gold". They are about as colorful as shellies get, nice gold color with a blueish hue to its belly area. http://www.cichlid-forum.com/articles/l_ocellatus.php

I have L.ocellatus "blue", looks like the gold but wihtout the gold color.Mine are more brown with the blue. I find my ocellatus quite aggresive and i'm sometimes scared to stick my hand in the tnak is they are feeling perticularly feisty. I think its best to keep them in pairs in smaller tnaks as i had 4 (1m/3f) in my 10g and the other 2 females got beat up pretty badly once the male picked his female.

http://www.cichlid-forum.com/articles/shelldweller_corner.php is a great site to learn more about shellies. They have a great messageboard.
