WTB sponge for diy sponge filters

where can i get these sponges for diy sponge filters?
lfs doesnt have sponge blocks period its a pityful store anyway lol.
does anyone have these block sponges for sale? thanks

Most people use replacement sponges from filters like AC filters and some stores that might have those may be LFS, Petco, Petsmart, etc. You can also try a hardware store like Home Depot, or Lowes. I'm pretty sure you can probably find some sponge type material there. Some online pet stores also have sponges, I've seen them on bigalsonline.

Probably a lot cheaper then buying and shipping it from a member of the forum

hey ive got a couple zoo med 501 prefilter sponges im not using. interested in a trade for something?

i have looked at hobby stores and others with no luck.
i want the big square ones like i see most sponge filters are made from.
anyone know someone who makes these sponges or filters for sale?
the ac sponges are way to small, the ac20 sponge here is 6.00 anyway, im looking for 4"x4" squares or bigger.

try ebay. i got somekind of 3"x5"x1" sponge and cut it to look good. but i didnt get mine off ebay. but ebay has everything.

You can purchase sponge that goes on Lustar Hydro sponge filter at JEHMCO. I believe they may have bulk pricing as well.
