A Kitten! :D

Ok i caught this kitten that had been living underneath my deck and eating the food i left for him because it was below freezing and would be that way for the next couple of days. i wanted him to have a warm place to sleep and a full belly. so i set up a super ghetto trap involving a rabbit hutch, a bowl of food, and two shoe strings tied together and squeezed through my window screen. you get the picture. well it worked!
i felt terrible at first because he was terrified out of his mind, but i took him inside and he immediately accepted his food. after an hour or two he was letting me pet him, and now (a day later) he is letting me hold him and loves to be scratched. he's a purr machine!! he and one of my dogs already love eachother lol its really weird because of their size difference.
well here he is! anybody have any name suggestions?

OMG he looks just like my Roxy, Logan!!! Is he a boy? I'd name him Gus Gus. That's what I'd have named Roxy if she was a boy. Or if it's a girl she should be Foxy ;)

Ps. Congrats!!!

I just realized that Roxy has a little smudge on her face like your cat does, only it's on the other side of her face and right under her nose! Isn't that cute :)

i honestly don't know what sex it is. i have looked for a penis but couldn't find one. actually all i found was a butt hole. im gonna leave the sexing to vet from now on, i officially suck at it :/
i was shocked when i first saw him because he is and EXACT copy of my first cat (chloe). i still have chloe actually, but i have not told her about the new (foxy :naughty: ) girl in my life. haha. im afraid of how she will respond to the little thing! which is why he is in the john deere room for now haha.

Erm, it tends to "hide". It's kinda a shock when you see it. IE: when the cat turns over so you can pet his tummy :eek3: I'd totally leave it to the vet too ;) Maybe Chloe will take her under her wing? Pouncer, the man of the house, just bops her on the head when Roxy get's too forceful. She's kinda a bully ;)

well no wonder i couldn't find anything! it didn't help that he wasn't holding still either haha. actually he is weird about being picked up. he kinda freaks. i don't think he's ever been touched before i caught him, when he was in my back yard, you couldn't get within 20 feet of him before he would run off
i have always heard that boys are more friendly and cuddly than girl cats. is that true? because he is definitley a lot more cuddly than my female cat. well all except the "feet of the ground" thing

I would say that's not true. It all depends on the cat. I had two that were brothers and one was sooo cuddly and his brother was a beast. He escaped and climbed up our tree. He ran away during winter. It was really sad. Also cats can change a lot after they've been "fixed". When are you taking him to the vet? Are you going to keep him?

Tori, idk when im taking him to the vet. i need to call and schedule an appointment tho. i need to do that after i sell the rest of my stuff off craigslist (made 75 bucks so far, you think that will cover it?)
and yes i am going to keep him. im concerned about how to introduce him and chloe tho! i guess ill just let her hate him for the first month and then get over it lol

wanna know a secret? i am allergic to cats too! lol its true. i used to be extremely allergic being anywhere near a cat. but i have outgrown the worst of it. now you can only tell im allergic if i get scratched by a cat. it will swell really bad and be itchy and hot. but its not too bad, its worth playing with the kitten :D

Ceasor is my enormous black lab (i think that he might be a mutant lol he is around 200 pounds) and he's all lean muscle /yikes

haha, i knew it wasn't your cat, i know where he came from...

across the street from me is a horse market thing, and there are cats everywhere for the baby swallows that fall out of their nests and all the mice/rats attracted to the horse feed. but i will not take him back to that guy. the last time i was over there one of the cats was on the ground writhing in pain because the cat got its tail stepped on so the guy cut it off. he scares me when it comes to common sense.
he leaves food out for them sometimes to feed them which i understand is nice for the plethora of cats *in the moment* but they breed and breed like crazy, which is why this little ball of fur and bones crossed the street and accepted food from me in the first place (you can't tell by looking because of his fur but he is extremely bony, i was shocked when i first pet him).

What do you guys think about it? i am pretty sure im doing the right thing by not taking him back there but i want to know if you guys think i should take him back there?

I don't think you should take the stray you just found back to an irresponsible person across the street from you. If you and your family can't keep it, take it to an animal shelter (not pound) and give the shelter a donation of 20 or 30 bucks at least which would go towards getting the cat up to date on its vaccines and stuff. I hope you're wanting to have it neutered or spayed if you do keep it :) . I would keep it if I were you (if you can), looks like such a sweet cat!

a cat thats already named lol, Chloe (i also had a black cat that got run over by a neighbor....an hour after i got her. i named her Mr. Bleak...i was 12)
i can list all five of the goldfish names too lol, Regis, Pandora, Strudel, Pinky, and Artemis
and a betta named Cadmus :D
oh and i also used to have a black lab named Rainbow haha. she's gone now tho

I would warn you my friend took in a ferral (sp?) cat and it lived with her 5 years before escaping back into the wild...I guess it never got over the taste of living in the wild. Just be careful.

one of my friends lives about two minutes east of me, and it is like right where the "town" stops and the "country" starts. Everybody thinks that oh it is the wild blue yonder, we don't want to take care of our pets anymore they will do fine in the wild. every week or so at least a couple of dogs and multiple cats get dumped at that spot. its absolutely ridiculous.
my area is mentally retarded, people here post on craigslist saying "i need somebody to buy this dog/cat from me, its not a kitten/puppy anymore and we don't want it. if nobody comes to get it i will be forced to dump it"
