i wish i did and while sitting here wishing for one i thought, "hey, don't sit around complaining to yourself and get off yer butt and do something about it."
sooo, i'm thinking i'd like to get a club started. i'm hoping some people here might know what is involved, how these things usually work and so on. what kind of things do you do?
If you are a part of a club please tell me about it. basically just looking for ideas, suggestions, personal experiences or anything else you may have to offer

thanx (:

well you will have to host it or find a lfs that will host it. a couple key things have it every month same weekend. take it slow have a auction where people can bring plants fish to sell take a cut. try to get discounts from the lfs.

oooo...discounts. i never would have thought of that. i bet the guy at one of our lps would be into that. whenever the store is not too busy he always comes to chitchat with me and ask how my tanks are doing. i could probably host them here since i have a big gigantic(mostly empty) house. thanks. oh, and sorry for dropping a curse word. they come out often and i don't normally sensor them.
so aside from auctions what kind of stuff do you usually do? maybe i could study like crazy and do some lectures or class type things? share pics and experiences?

different clubs do different things. some clubs is more about hanging out others have people who speak on a subject. really its up to you. best bet is to find a place to set up your club online. start looking for people into fish online who would come. might want to hold off trying to make money for the club until its up and running. this way its not you alone looking like your taking all the money. though you can have a club 100% with no funds needed. put flyers at your lfs to find people local also.

Don't have one. Kinda wish we did but then we really only have one independent pet store around here and only on fish store which is mostly salty with a smattering of cichlids. It's kinda sad :(

I might have to do that too, eventually. All the ones I've found so far have a real narrow focus.
