Definitely aren't sterile.
I don't understand contamination - the glow of the fish eliminates any, and all natural camouflage that it might have. Like neon signs saying FOOD FOOD for the predators.

I have 5 of those in my planted tank... they arent sterile- I have had glofish fry before (although they got eaten). All it is is a zebra danio that scientists added a gene for flourescent colors to... they are fertile-- and breeding 2 of them will get you more glowing fish

just say no...
why? there is nothing wrong with them
I refuse to by died fish, and ones that are mistreated but these are very healthy.. and the "glow" doesnt mess with their lives at all while in captivity
they arent died or anything... the original breeding colony had a gene injected into its egg.. and now when they breed it produces more glowing fish
