Algae on shell

not really any reason to remove it TBH... it may harm him and its not huring him to leave it

his snail buddies will clean him off shortly

Algae doesn't hurt the snails. My nerites and BN plecos do a good job wiping algae off the shells.

I meant that REMOVING IT MAY HARM HIM

which is why I told the OP to LEAVE the algae lol

I wouldnt want to risk scratching his shell by trying to take it off... especially when the algae isnt doing anyone any harm

you could try a plain magic eraser.

I have to admit I didn't know what a magic eraser was. I had to "Google" the term. It looks like it would be something handy to have around even if it didn't work for removing the algae from the snail shell.
 
Just make sure you get the original magic erasers not the kind with the scrubby pad as I believe the new fangled kind have cleaners in them. Yes, I just said new fangled.

Plus, magic erasers are amazing. I wouldn't livein a house with kids without at least one box at all times, lol.
