I know bottom feeders love fresh veggies and frozen food. And mine have finally started eating veggies (yay!)

So I'm wondering what your feeding schedule is? Do you feed fresh/frozen veggies every day? once a week? Somewhere in between? What about frozen foods like bloodworms and brine shrimp? Do you use pellets and wafers as the main portion of their diet or the fresh and frozen foods?

Looking forward to everyone's input!

ps... and does this apply to the mid/upper level dwellers as well? I noticed my danios *trying* to eat zucchini last night, but his mouth just isn't designed right for it.

I feed veggies about twice a week, frozen once or twice a week, and pellets twice a week. I fast one day a week as well.

I have recently gone to an every other day feeding schedule. Have been using it for a month or so, after talking with another hobbyist or 2 on another forum (gasp !) Seems to be working out fine. I alternate between frozen and flakes (and pellets), with veggies ( peas and zucchini mostly) each given once a week.

thanks for the replies :) I definitely to figure in a couple skip days, helps balance my tendency to over feed a bit.

I feed all my tanks kens premium flakes on a daily basis

as far as the bottom feeders go... I feed algae wafers every other day.. and zuchinni/cucumber twice a week (the cichlids eat it too)

I also feed sinking shrimp pellets once a week or so.. and the cichlids get kens sinking cichlid crumbles 3 times a week (flakes the rest of the week)

I feed all my fish every day. They have me trained to believe they are always starving!:) With the bottom feeders, I'm keeping them in breeding condition and still feeding twice a day since none of them is much over a year old and still maturing, so for plecos it's fresh veggies every other day and I switch each feed of stick/pellets between kens veggie sticks, earthworm stick, brine shrimp sticks and shrimp pellets. Rarely use flakes for the bottom feeders. Cories old and young get FBW at least every other day and everyone gets live white worm all you can eat buffet twice a week. I don't use frozen brine shrimp, the fish never seemed to really care about it. My fish eat better than me!

I feed my fish lots of variety once or usually twice a day, pellets, wafers, flakes. Veggies 3-4/week, frozen, 2-3. When on vacation though I only have them fed every 2-3 days so there's less mess without the 1-2 water changes/week.

lets see (looks into fish food pantry)....

frozen bloodworms
frozen mysis
nls pellets
nls h2o stable wafers (algae wafers)
tetramin tropical flakes
tetra color tropical crisps
nutrafin max sinking krill/shrimp pellets
zucchini
cucumber

yep, the finkids eat better than i do! lol.

i alternate all of the above on different days, feed twice a day most days (some days i feed only in the evening - translation: too much of a hurry to get my butt out the door in the morning to feed, lol)

all my fish and snails eat all of the above.
