what is the best way to treat a planted tank with alot of amano shrimp and snails?
My SA puffer has ick and I tried raising the temp to 85 and using two tablespoons of aquarium salt for every 10g, but no results. Anyone have any advice, I need to solve this asap.

you'll have to find a treatment that can be used with inverts, so pop down to your LFS and have a look at the treatments and if they have warnings about what you should and shouldn't use it with.

How long have you been treating now? This method of treatment is usually pretty darn effective. I'm sure you're well aware that it will probably take a week to completely cure it..maybe longer. I have always continued treatment for a few more days after it "appeared" to be cured, though, just to be on the safe side. I'm not sure why you're not getting any results.

I bought a new 10g and used an established filter on it for a hospital tank, it looks to be getting much better. I only noticed a couple spots of ick on him today. This is about the third or fourth time he's had ick since I got him. The slightest imbalance in my tank sets it off in him. SA puffers are really prone to ick and believe me when I say "THEY ARE!". =(
