No way to prove you unwierd. (you're just going to have to accept it) However, I too have a watch obsession (recently sold them but I had a 007 Edition Sea Master and a 50th Anniversary Submariner) My next watch will be a Daytona

great response to your Fiance, Coler. . . :D

By any chance, did your fiance see your avatar? Cause if she thinks you're weird for collecting wrist watches, I'd be curious to know what she'd think of your choice in avys.. :D

Very nice - my Aquaterra Seamaster is in for a service...that's probably my favourite. Daytona is a serious piece of kit - wish you well with it.

Cool - I need me a pocket watch for the collection...especially as I have to wear a waistcoat at some point most days.

A museum collection Movado (too hard to tell the time without numbers :o
A Tag Heuer that I wear 90% of the time. Absolutely love it.

LOL - Gotta quit spending money on fish first (like that will ever happen)

It's no Patek Philippe but it would be my biggest price paid for a timepiece.

Aquaterra Seamaster

I collect watches too, from everyday fashion watches to a few expensive ones. Some are antique; some are just goofy. I like the variety to suit the kind of day it is.

Prove me unwierd.

^^ Yeah, like that's gonna happen. :perv:

IDK if it's anything like my shoe collection it's probably normal  or at least that is how I justify it...some people collect handbags, some earings, you watches, me shoes *shrug*

To be honest I have no idea. I never pay attention to name brands. I grew up dirt poor, so the way I see it, don't matter who makes it, what matters is if you have one that works. (I'd pay no more than 10$ for one) But that's just my ghetto speaking. My husbands more into looking "hip" so I'm sure he'll be on here when he wakes up to gloat about it.

took the words right outta my mouth, Kashta....Irish, nothing will help you with that!

I don't know if I 'collect' watches....I have about a dozen that I wear...and buy them whenever one catches my eye....

yes
i have hundreds of them (I am old) i have ones that cost 99 cents from burger king to some watches that...are over 100 years old,,,and a couple that cost more than a couple months paychecks....one that is a wrist sun dial, one u need a magnifying glass to see the time, etc etc but then i went back to fish as a hobby (the spouse thought it would be a cheaper hobby ) rofl

lol dean - two great hobbies are better than one. Its not about the monetary 'value' of the watch...just what it is to you.

Coler, you better watch this obsession and get a hand on it quickly. otherwise in time your girl is going to keep getting wound up and is going to leave you any second. Just tell her "baby listen to me a minute, whats mine is hours, we just need to band together, and if you don't stop I'm going to end up getting ticked off and I'm going to clock you in the face!"

can you tell I'm bored? (If you can find a way to get bezel in the I'm all for it!)

When I use to bartend full time I would run through "fashion" watches all the time, DKNYs, Kenneth Coles, etc. All these $150-250 watches would last 6 months before the guts were rusted out. So I sucked it up a bought a Tag wore it daily for 6 years, but broke it last year when I was moving, snagged it on furniture. Tried to take it to watchmaker to get it repaired and they said I have to contact Tag, afraid of the repair cost and never called them.

Well I don't collect watches (I collect rocks actually- LOL maybe you should turn to that, probably cheaper) but I have this pretty cool little watch that can also take my heart rate :)

Neat! I used Timex before but I got the glass nearly damaged and deeply scratched when I was involved in an accident that skinned my knees and arms. Casio and another watch by Coca-Cola at the moment. The latter is very sturdy and I use it to match my brown attire when I do use brown shirts.:D I seriously need another watch.:perv: Most of the watches I used are waterproof so I won't have to remove them when I take a dip in the pool, beaches, etc.

i love watches and will get a decent one again in the future.

my watches so far

Tag when i was around 18-20 (broken then lost)
Omega constellations for 21st birthday (smashed to pieces)
Rolex 25th birthday (got it on the Wednesday, broke the glass by the Sunday and £290 repair bill. its still broken)

i then decided to go cheap as expensive was not working for me and got a cheap Next watch which lasted for years and i still have it.

i then bought
titanium Seiko (i lost it and think its buried under my new upstairs floor when i did the house extension)

at the moment i have a Seiko 10th anniversary Mazda MX5 (Miata) special addition and my Girlfriend has the lady's version, you only get these if you buy the car)

i fancy another Omega not sure which but would not like to spend more that £1500, unfortunately i have other things to spend cash on at the moment so it will have to wait.

I got my Citizen as a gift almost 10 years ago, still running great. The only other watches I've gone through were sport watches when I was running - a few Ironmen and a few Nikes. The one I have works, so I've never bothered getting another one...I don't need them for fashion as I'm not really a fashionable guy :D

Omega Aquaterra Seamaster - stainless steel and black dial - looks great with jeans and a t-shirt, looks equally great in a tux. I'm biased because I have this watch.

Sploke...timex noooooooooooooo...for a work out watch go G Shock...you'll never look back :D

Let's see how much of an obsession this watch thing is....just how many do you have, Coler. Once I know that I will be able to tell how unweird you are!

Myself, I have 2 watches. A movado my uncle got me for graduation, which I have never worn, and my everyday, cheap, seiko. Its lasted awhile now. Once it dies/breaks/gets lost, I will go months without one until I get one for my birthday or christmas.

To be honest, I hate the way womens watches look. I have never found one I've been in love with. However, I do really like mens watches, not for myself, they are too masculine, but in general.

Not that I collect them on purpose but, I have a Citizen, a Lucien Picard, a Timex, a G Shock, 2 Lorus - Micky & Minnie, a Bulova, 2 that were my mom's (don't know what they are), 2 that were my grandmother's (don't know either), a Swatch, and a Rolex (found at a ball field when I worked for DOD Recreation Dept. when we were stationed in Germany many years ago).
