Good evening all! I have a happy healthy 46 gallon bowfront tank that is populated with an assortment of small tertrae, neons, and rasporae. I did a fish in cycle. I seem to have a very stable tank although all parameters still read zero. (Started this tank Janurary 11/09..I know, strange but true) I've been reading on AC that it is not a bad idea to set up a small tank for qurantine if somebody gets sick or injured. How does one set this up? I was thinkin' about a 10 r 15 gallon tank. Should I have a substrate or not? Plants? Decorations? Obviously, I have no idea.

That size tank is fine. I suggest dark background, plastic/silk plants, and a sponge filter. Everything else requires cleaning after each quarantine.

I like leaving a qt bare bottom. This makes it easy to gauge what is eaten/pooped out, etc. I use all decorations which can be bleached/cleaned. I keep a spare sponge in my canister or an extra sponge filter running on my display tank to move over. I typiically go for decor like terra cotta pots or plastic plants for the qt/hospital tank.

Thank-you squeak & jinkzd! This really helps. I'lll get a quarantine tank started and I'm sure that I'll be asking y'all a a lot more questions! Your patience is commendable!
