Boy killed after taking Dads Mercedes

Very sad. This is why I believe teenagers should never be aloud to drive such powerful cars. I'm with my mom and dad on this one, the first car should be a reliable older car. To many teenagers die in crashes because they think they are invincible and they just aren't.

Sorry, but I have little to no sympathy here. The stupid shall be punished and stealing a car and getting into a high speed chase counts as stupid to me. Even as an ignorant and "invincible" teen, I had some level of respect for the law. This kid could have easily killed a family instead of himself. It's a terrible loss for his family, but at least the loss was limited to the family of the one that caused it. JMO, feel free to flame.

No flaming here, I completely agree. My parents weren't strict by no means but they definitely taught me right from wrong. Being in a military family has its advantages there I guess.

:iagree: My daughter would have never dreamed of pulling a stunt like that. I believe that most of the problems with todays children stem from the way they are raised.

That article was written with a bit of sensationalism. The E270 is a diesel, so it's far from being a street racer. Also, just about any high end newer car can top out at 155mph.

My dad always had a sports car in the garage while I was growing up. Never once was tempted to take it, although I would go out and row through the gears and pretend like I was driving.

:iagree: Could not have said it better myself.
