I just got my snails from Invertz Factory and I was wondering if I can quarantive them together in a 10 gallon tank? There's several pond snails in the tank which I'm hoping will satisfy the assassin's appetite.

Nerites will be a nice change up for the assasins!

i keep adult apple snails with assasins, but wouldnt chance it with any thing smaller.

Terry, you might have missed this but msjinkzd's golfball sized mystery snail was ganged up by her assassin snails a few months ago even though the assassins had the option to eat other snails such as ramshorns. Mine also work in groups to take down canas larger than themselves otherwise the canas can simply retaliate since the canas themselves are aggressive. If the OP has only assassin snail, it'll probably work but beyond that, I don't like to risk the other snails meant as pets with the assassins. We can't underestimate the assassins. They are meant to kill as they live.

I agree if you love your Nerites don't risk it....

But on a side note I have had assassins living with nerties for 3 months now no losses this is part of an ongoing experiment. But the one thing you need to understand though I have no shortage of feeder snails...........:evil_lol:

I put a divider in the tank just in case. Definitely don't want my nerites to be lunch! Now, if they just won't climb over the divider! :) I guess I should probably quarantine these guys for two weeks at least? I'm assuming snails are just as likely to carry disease as fish?

Actually, snails can harbor the juvenile stages of flukes. However, it's highly unlikely that captive-bred snails like those from Invertz Factory or nerites would carry them. Nerites don't come from the right regions and captive-bred snails shouldn't have them at all. The riskiest snails as far as flukes are concerned are wild-caught apples.
