i have 4 red zebras in my tank, and 2 of the larger ones (might be larger cause i bought them first, but it has been 5 months) have white markings on there jaws which appeared about a month after i got them. i was wondering if this is a common mark among males?

Not too sure how to sex red zebras but i dont' think the white marks are a sex indicator. Does it look like they have white lips? IF so my rusties have the same marks and it is from lip locking and scraping algae off rocks.
no there lips are not white, i just looked, the spots are on the gill plate and are kinda metallic or a pearl, kinda changes color, maybe 4 small specks

if so where did you buy them from? they are more of an orange color, a dark orange. i just got them at walmart when i first got into aquariums.
I have three red zebras and they don't have any white around their mouth. Mine are pretty much orange except for the bottom of them is a little more of a white color.
