Okay... so it looks like little white down feathers... I saw a couple of these floating around earlier and I showed my b/f and he thought it was nothing- perhaps dead plant waste? Then I took the intake from my filter off to add pantyhose (adding shrimp and they are small enough to get sucked up in it) and all the sudden it was CROWDING my tank. I just did a waterchange and parameters are fine. (I'm an obsessive tester.)
Things of note: One of by BN plecos started darting from the bottom of my tank, slapped the top of the water and swam back down- he did this twice and i've never seen him do it before, I've also been in this room as the computer is here and have not seen him do it since.
I am acclimating about 7 cherry shrimps.
I just took out some all my feeder guppies and it looked like one of them had some white film growing on their nose. Hence the large waterchange. I took the guppies out today after I started acclimating the shrimp.
I brought home the 2 Blue Rams and 2 new plants on Sunday and in my selfish want to see them in the pretty tank I did not QT them.
So yea- i know I may have screwed up here. Now I need to know what the heck it is and if it is even dangerous or if it is just dead plant matter???? And how it got in my freaking tank!!!
PLEASE HELP! I dont want to loose my ABN Plecs and GBRs!!!!!!!!!!!
PS: This is my first planted tank so I hope its not something stupid.
ALSO OF NOTE: My filter is set up like a ClearView even though it isnt. Bio wheels and sponge only. I use this on all my filters, but perhaps you needed to know that for diagnosis or something.... here are pics. (Sorry they are sideways and there is only one good shot- first pic is of the biggest ones- most are much smaller than that.)
They seem to be clearing up as time passes but I want to know what it is!
