Mold or fungus or what?

My tank has some stuff that looks like spiderwebs coming off of the gravel and a little on the lower parts of the glass. Dusty cobweb-looking. It hangs up off of the rocks and sways with the current. Any clue what it is?
It's in my small tank with fish that are patiently awaiting transfer to a cycling tank, but It's not quite ready yet. Thanks!

IDK did you put food or something in the tank and leave it? It could be mold. Have a pic?

Perhaps some hair algae growing there that's collecting food particles from the water column. That would explain the webby or hair strand form and the dusty appearance.

It's white. Are there other colors of hair algae than green? I used my gravel vac on it and did a water change. A lot of the stuff was surrounding old food particles. Does this mean I'm over-feeding?

It is fungus growing on spoiling food. Cut way back on your feeding.
