k heres the situation
i didnt do research bought a tank with gold fish didnt cycle or anything so of corse 2 weeks later my tanked died from amonia
the tank doesnt have a heater but i do
so say if i keep the water heat up the water and finish the cycle with same filter gravel and decor and allow the cycle to finish do you think this would be okay to b able to add fish sooner then starting over?
thanks for any help u can give
(BTW i got another 10 gallon 2 set up after this 1 gets working)

yes, dont start over, use the same filter, do fishless, its more humane :) ...do twice weekly/weekly water changes, get some filter media from a friend's established tank if possible...put the heater in definitely, not sure what temp to put it at for a goldfish, you have to research that.

exactly, just read up on the cycling process, do you have a test kit? test like every 3 days or so whenever you have time/bored hehe...your cycle is done when u have 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, and no more than 25 nitrate..

i do not currently have a test kit but will be picking one up shortly but i can not wait thanks for the help guys
