Its a sad day in my aqarium, and I will be following up with my LFS tommorow, but I wonder if anyone else knows what is going on here. I have a 33 Gallon Tall Tank. Fluval 3Plus submerible filter. A fairly agressive bubble maker, some fake plants, a piece of wood purchased from the LFS. Tested my water 2 times in 1 week and all conditions seem perfect. 1 week ago I had 7 white clouds in the tank, they had been living there happily for about 3 months. Last week I purchased an Ancistrus and 6 Guppies. I floated everyone and eventually released them. 4 days later, I noticed that one of my guppy's has both of his eyes go very large and black and he is acting very eratic. I wondered if the bubble maker was stressing him out. I turned it off. The next day, I tested water again, all good. HOwever, I had 2 dead white clouds and now another guppy with both eyes enlarged and black. The 2 bug-eyed guppies are now hanging out at the top of the tank looking like they are needing some air. Whats going on?

Did you test your ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate? What are those readings? I would initially suspect that increasing the amount of fish is causing a mini-cycle in your tank which is having adverse effects on your fish. Do any of the other fish have symptoms?

Test your water with a good liquid test kit for ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate. You probably are still cycling and need to know these levels.

Could be popeye. Can you provide a pic? First thing to do is an immediate large water change.
