Hi,
Recently I switched my 29 from large pebbles to sand for my albino cory.
But I have had a hard time cleaning cause I always suck sand up. I have tried almost everything, including attaching a pump to the tube. I just hate leaving so much stuff all over the nice white sand! Could it just be because it's a fine grade, or is there some really good technique?
Any help would be appreciated! :)

Just as an aside for anyone considering sand.

PLEASE- PLEASE wash it well. I thought I had but days later still have sand particles floating everywhere!

When you think you've washed it well- you're probably only a quarter of the way in!

It can depend on the sand too. I got pool filter sand for my tanks. The first tank, I washed it like crazy. The second tank, I started to wash it but was having problems, so I gave up and poured some in. The third tank I didn't even bother. I've never had problems with sand or dust floating in the water. It's a heavier sand though.

i gave up and bought really small gravel because i was losing so much sand which means i was losing so much $ lol

The good thing about pool filter sand is it's heavy and cheap. The bad thing is you don't have a choice of color. Mine is a very uniform light tan color, which is what I was looking for, something natural. If you want something fancier, like black sand, then you have to pay out the nose for it.

I swirl the vac over the sand but I don't think the vac is strong enough. Could it be because I bought enough tubing for the vac to suck all the way to the bathroom (42 ft)? Oh, and it is not a Python.
