I've got a 20G tank with 3 Kenyis and I'm getting kinda worried. Non of them are eating that much and one of them is kinda yellowish. I can't figure out what's wrong and I'm afraid if this keeps up they won't live very much longer. Any idea why they are stressed? I just did a huge water change today and the previous reading for ammonia was 1.0.

ammonia is bad. in other news, how big are your kenyis? my friend used to keep them, and i believe the males turn somewhat yellow as they mature.

The reasons they are stressed is that (a) a 20 is too small for these fish and (b) they're suffering the effects of ammonia (and possibly nitrites). Changing water can help keep the latter under control. Getting a larger tank, or trading the kennyis for fish more appropriate to the tanks size, will cure the former.

When male kennyis mature they start turning yellow. This generally coincides with them becoming more aggressive. The problems you see are only likely to worsen...
