Ok, so I know angels like height. I have a 30 gallon tank that's 36"x12"x16" tall. I was wondering if anyone has kept angels in a tank that size before. I would assume that you can, since it's only 2" shorter than the 29 gallon tank. I would be looking at keeping a pair of angels, and a school of cories, and maybe a few dither fish. ANy thoughts???
thanks!

That should be fine.

I always prefer the extra 2" in the taller 29.
when you see adult angels it may help a bit ;)

Yea I had a breeding pair in my 29 gallon at one point. Currently there are about 15 blood fin tetras in there, and I have a pair of bolivian rams on the way. I have a vacant 30 gallon that i was going to put the rams in. Since the angles passed a month or so ago (i haven't got a clue why, my water was perfect, i was feeding them properly, and there was no noticable parictes, but i treated for them anyway) i just figured id make that tank into a tank for the rams. Now i have the 30, which is longer, so i figured they might like it for extra swimming room. I was thinking that if i didn't put much into the tank on the bottom, keep things simple, the angles would be fine, since they would have almost the full 16" of height to swim in. In the 29 they rarely came to the bottem of the tank anyway, they mostly stayed in the upper portions of the tank.

that is an option
but , another option ,why not reserve the 29 for the angels and move the other fish to the 30. they (tetras and rams)would like the larger foot print.
the extra height of the 29 would not cramp the fins of an adult angel as much.
I keep Wild Angels in 29's and often wonder about taller tanks for them as many of the males when they display are forced to the center and only have an 1 or 2 to extend their fins easily reaching over 9" when extended.

yea i might just do that. I'm looking to get a 45 gallon tank, that would be high. The biggest issue I have would be catching all 15 tetras...in a heavily planted tank.. lol oh the fun!
