I have a 29 gal. tank that is 30Lx18Hx12W. I am looking at getting a Coralife Aqualight 30". But there are two versions that I can see that are both 65 watts.

I have pretty much been reduced to the 50/50 (which is a 10000k light and a antic blue 03). This is a compact flourescnet. I have a freshwater tank and I have been reading up on these lights and I am totally confused. Would this light help with my plant growth? I found the freshwater version for $44 but I am not all to sure about the seller so I am going to go with the $99 version at an LFS. My old light is slowly burning up and I am afraid of a potential fire (which sux as I just bought a new bulb). Your help is greatly apprecaited.

bump. Sorry to be impatient, but I am heading to the store soon to pick up this light and want to make sure I am not buying something that won't work. I posted this topic earlier in the plant forum, but no response. HELP I am completely confused by this whole light thing.

you want the one that comes with the 6700ēK bulb, not the 50/50 blulb

Both work fine. The K rating for bulbs isn't very important for plants, and 6700-10000 is usually the recommended range anyways. The higher the number, the more white the lighting appears and it is usually more appealing to the human eye than lower ratings which are more yellow-ish.

I posted this in your other thread but I didn't see that they were 50/50 not regular 10,000K. You want the 6700 bulbs then, and you can always replace them if you dislike the appearance.
