recently we rented a truck from a company called U HAUL to bring back some things from calgary alberta to regina saskatchewan. here is a link to a thread I started on mfk about it

http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=237198

just thought I would post it here in an effort to save any other ac members the bad experience with this company

they refuse to make any attempt to make anything right in this matter :silly:

I am sorry that happened to you that really sucks. Did the fish make it?

I rented a trailer from them when I moved up here. They didn't have a "ground" on the hook up to the lights or an adapter mind you...BLEW THE LIGHTS ON MY VEHICLE!! They went out in CT in the middle of a blizzard! I got a $50 ticket in MA for driving w/no tail lights...had to hold the brights on the whole way cause the clicky thing was broken in my car....I returned the trailer to them and explained what happened. They insisted in no way could the ground be responsible...well guess what? 2 weeks later I needed to rent another trailer to move my stuff into my apartment I got the same trailer...and a new item....a freeking adaptor w/a ground!!! Bloody miracle eh? They tried to charge me double because I returned it half an hour late...wtf? They caused my lighting system to fry out! I placed several complaints because after the fine, the part to fix my lighting system, not to mention having to jimmy rig a breaker because Chevy stopped making it in like 1995. I just wanted them to own up to having faulty arse equiptment...no such luck. So yes, UHAUL SUCKS and I will NEVER rent from them again.

you should write to consumerist.com

they love stories like this, and they might tell you what your options are on making things right.

btw,

sorry to hear what happened. that sucks.

thanks email sent to them never heard of them before

I love the internet such a great freedom of information

I also had a problem couple years ago with them on a truck. They are such piece of crap. I found left over food in the glove box moldy and the blower fan did not work for AC/Heater. I called and complained but they did nothing for me just said sorry and hung up.

yes thankfully they did, was a very interesting climatizing process thought we was gonna lose a couple of them but thankfully they made it

as well thanks very much for your experience it would seem I am not the only one with a bad experience :swear:

I've found that filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau usually gets a response. It's worked every time for me, except with Cingular/AT&T (they said they couldn't reach me because they didn't know my phone #???????).

The most recent BBB complaint that I filed was against Hewlett-Packard regarding a warranty issue. Now when I email them for support they respond quickly and are VERY nice.

It's amazing what a good complaint can do :D especially to the ones that count :evil_lol:
