I worked at PetSmart before and actually worked at a good one. My boss was an MFK member who is actually respected for his knowledge, he taught me a lot.
I just started this job at PetCo and today was my second day workin in the fish dept. I being used to co-workers who know about fish was surprised to hear this conversation:

Customer: I wanna put a betta in my community tank
Emplpoyee: no problem, where you thinking male or female
Well I was thinking this crown tail male
You know if you add a female too you will have babies. The cool thing is that bettas are live-bearers, like guppies, you will just look in one day and see babies!

Ummm, did I really just hear what I thought I heard??? I just had to share cuz its just way too ridiculous. I wanna quit already . . . Seriously.

Anyone else had a co-worker give out horrible info???
 
Wow, so bettas are livebears?! Gee, you learn something new everyday.
 
Lol it was Miles . . . although from what I have heard he got in a little fight with someone and may have lost some of that respect . . . but I know a lot of people asked for his help with rays . . .
 
When I was working for Petsmart, I was talking to one of my coworkers about how much I hated those little betta cups, and when I told her I kept mine in a 46 and 10 gallon tanks, she replied with something along the lines of "But aren't they like....claustrophobic, but backwards, like big spaces freak them out and give them heart attacks?!?". The worst part about it was she was completely serious. I don't even want to think about how many customers were given that bit of information before I set her straight.
 
1st day or not I would so went up to the employee and said you know your wrong. If that did not work show them a book at the store of the bubble nest.
