My old, established 30 gal has recently become white and cloudy. There are no fish in it now, as they have all been moved to tanks that have finished cycling, but i want to put more fish in. From what I've read, moss sometimes starts out as white stringy-ness. Mine looks like strands of fiberglass at the top of the cloudy water.
I just put in a filter with rigged media that came from a pond filter. It's a cartridge filter, and we took one of the pads from the pond's, which is full of algae. Is this just algae blooming?
They're also like tiny, slimy hairs. The filter was put in about three days ago, and the fish removed yesterday. I don't have the parameters because my test vials broke. Thanks!
