I am at the starts of a reef tank but since this is related only to fish, I found this to be the right section to post in.

I have two clownfish, a traditional Ocellaris and a black and white Ocellaris. I was wondering, with these two being so closely related in species, if it is possible for them to breed or if anyone has any experience in this? I have noticed the smaller (traditional) of the two acting as if attempting to mate with the other (black and white), the "dance" I've seen online in many videos and in person at a friends house when his two traditional ocellaris were breeding.

Thanks ahead of time for all replies!

They are the same species, the only difference between a black and white ocellaris and an orange ocellaris is how much black pigment they have. They can breed together, whether they will or not is another story but they can if they want.
