Hi all,
I recently did a knock-down rebuild of my tank and bought an Antennata lionfish and a neon wrasse. The wrasse is a dream, it is fun to watch, eats anything, and is non-aggressive. The lionfish on the other hand, has been a problem from the start. It won't eat. I've tried everything my LFS has on offer - live feeder fish, live Artemia, bits of prawn and squid on a stick and a bunch of frozen foods. I've never come across a situation where a lionfish won't eat, only where they are hard to wean.

Second problem is that I just bought a Cooper's Anthias who got along with everyone at first, but when I got up this morning my antennata's fins had been ripped to shreds.

I don't know what to do, I've been thinking of taking my lionfish out and putting him in a separate tank until he hardens up and starts feeding. In any case, something has to be done quickly! Any suggestions?

I have an african spotfin lionfish, that was really hard to feed, and still is. the only thing mine will eat is live glass fish and hardy heads. and live shrimp. he will starve himself dead befor he would eat anything dead.
its a real pain. if i didnt live on the coast with fish and shrimp at my doorstep there is no way i could keep this fish
If you want a feeding response get some very small live shrimp.
when i was trying to get my lion fish to take frozen food he starved for 7 days befor i added live fish. Wich didnt last long

as far as the anthis goes, although i have never had a coopers anthis. i have kept a princess and dispaire anthis for several years, and found them to be verry placid.
for the damaged fins i recomend a product by API called STRESS COAT + my brown morey had taken strips of my spotfin and i use it, In a mater of 2-3 days they are healed or very close to.
