Do you know if these guys will school with other danios, or if they need a school of their own?
Also, what are they like? Are they hyperactive top dwellers like other Danios?

They will not school with other danios, only with their own. They are active lower-mid to bottom dwellers from what I've seen at stores. Also known as Galaxy Rasbora if you want to do some research.

the are more like neons in a planted they search and hunt through the plants not real active or dart around like others, they are laid back.

they only spar with other males they go up and shimmy at one another and then leave,. no contact most times,.. i love them,..

I find that once the CPDs are very comfortable in their environment, they will no longer be shy at all. My 5 CPDs stay close to the top and will compete for floating flake food with other fish in my planted tank. They were hiding constantly near the bottom of the tank and were real finicky eaters for the first month or so when I got them. So much for being shy. Now these CPDs act close to zebra danios!
