Annoying chirping sound coming from Rena XP4 Filter

I just got a brand new Rena XP4 filter. It appears to be working fine, but it is making this strange noise periodically. It kind of sounds like a high-pitched chirp - as if some air bubbles or something are being forced through something else. Does that make sense?

I tried gently rocking the filter in hopes of dislodging any air bubbles but it hasn't helped the problem.

Any ideas?

I have an XP2 that I love, except when it has an air leak.

First of all try this:
Using vinyl electrical tape (it’s aquatic safe), tape the inlet neck from below the water line clear up to and including the priming cap. I still don’t know where the leak in mine is, but the electrical tape stopped it. Here are some of my posts to read:

In case you have more questions go to Planetrena.com and read the FAQ’s and/or send an email to customer service. They also sell parts.
