For those of you who are wondering true idiocy is when you build a hood for your new tank and completely neglect to consider the fact that you're running HOB filters and don't account for that in your hood design. Like I just did for example...:swear: :owned:[/blog]

Anyone else ever do something pricelessly dumb like this or is it just me :uhoh:

The great thing about this hobby is we are seldom the first one to ever screw up, especially something like this. Congrats on building the hood, adapt and overcome.

Ha ha ha!!

Thats Epic..

Well Assuming that you used WOOD - Easy fix with a drill and a Jig saw! Bit there done that!

Installed the light in the newly built hood and found I couldn't open the glass tops very far at all!

Easily fixed by remounting the light further back...so I thought!...then found a brace was also blocking the glass top from opening all the way. Back to the shop!

It's all good now...but there's a reason I'm not in the custom tank hood bizness...
