I looked at the sticky on top but it diddent seem to say. I have reciently heard that you are able to ship Briggs in a pill bottle partily filled with damp cotton. Is this true? I know that they have a lung and should be able to surrive out of the water as long as they can remain moist. Has anyone tried this or know of the pros and cons of it? I have a ton of baby Jades that I want to find homes for and can get the bottles real easily. But do not want to put them under undo stress. Any and all advice is welcomed!
Thanks!

A bag is better because you don't want to damage their shells. I also put in some java moss in with them.

You will find a very varied and opinionated group on the best way to ship snails. There are several commonly used methods, one of which is shipping them damp sandwiched either in damp newspaper or polyfill.

i have gotten both.

I have received Brigs both ways in a kordon breather bag with water and moss and once in a styrofoam cup with damp paper towels and holes poked in the sides for air in both cases the snails arrived alive.

I do think the breather bag shipped snails were more comfortable/less stressed because they were way more active from the start (feeding and crawling around immediately once acclimated) while the ones I received in the cup were closed for a day or so before feeling comfortable to come out of their shells.

Otherwise I guess either way works for short delivery times.

Thanks everyone. I was asking because I don't have any bags to ship in and I don't think that i could ship in a regular plastic bag.

So far all my snails have come from snoopy, in plastic baggies.the ones you buy in the grocery store. All were alive and happy. In seconds they were scooting around their tank.
