All of them pictured (3 different ones or 4?) are males and they are also of the Asian bred variety. What this means is that you should take them back the the store you got them from and get your money back if you can. Within the next 2-3 months or sooner yet, all of your rams will be dead and you won't know why. The reason is that the Asian bred rams are hormone treated for quicker coloration and for faster growth and these hormones take a toll on the rams and they are VERY short lived.

i fully agree with BS. i bought mine from my LFS, almost exact coloration as yours and as Bs said, my 3 gbrs died in 3 months and 5 days.

I am curious how you can determine if the fish are asian bred fish simply from the pictures.

if they are young and colored up..I would tend to agree but how do you know the age of the fish in question?

these fish could be several months old and kept in optimal conditions.

also I have seen czech bred and german bred rams with wonderful coloration

Rams can be sexually mature at 4 months old. Males at this age are a little over an inch and females are slightly under an inch. I can sex them pretty well at 2.5-3 months old when they are ~1/2", at least my own. They are definitely sexable and definitely all males.

Asian forms tend to be "stretched" from the growth hormones and they have a different appearance to them. They are all washed out in color and look nothing like the stockier European lines, which I would have to say are some of the best looking.
