Could it work in a 150 gallon?

probably yes because of the tank size.

Yes, it can work. I'm really not a fan of "common" plecos being kept though. A 150 would be a tight fit for the life of one.

I feel awful for any sev that has to live with a jaguar cich. You are talking about a managuense right?

He is. I'm against mixing severums with managuense.

I wouldn't put the severum with the jag

:iagree:The managuense are very large, aggressive and territorial. Chances are you will end up with one fish...and it won't be the severum.

yeah a jag will hurt a sev. I'd suggest an oscar or jack dempsey instead. Also use a ibby pleco.

I already have a L021. I was just wondering about the jag or sev mix.

So a pleco would be fine, but no sev?

I disagree a Severum can hold its own as long as they are put together at a relatively small size esp in a 150g. Here is the proof....

I agree that the severum won't last long when they're one on one like that, no buddies to gang up with. Severums can hold their own in groups--I have 3 with a Paratalapia Polleni and two Taiwan Reef Peacocks (odd leftover group) and I truly think the sevs survive due to numbers. Replace with a group of sevs-- voila! But a jag is so very aggressive . . .

I really disagree with the hype of a jag being "aggressive" I would use territorial....Give them enough and they can be pretty mellow.
