I just did a water change in my 'skipper's tank and I was so concerned about getting the salinity right I forgot to add Prime! It was probably just a minute before I realized it and added it to the water. Do you think they are going to be okay?
i don't know how sensitive mudskippers are, but any fish that can go on land and water is probably tough enough to withstand that tiny slip up. i would monitor them for a day or so just to make sure they're ok, but pretty sure they'll be alright.
on that note (the slip up), you may want to consider mixing your water conditioner with your new tank water prior to adding the water to the tank (if you aren't doing it that way already). i don't know how big a tank your skippers are in, so premixing water may not be feasible, but i always do it that way, regardless of tank size, and that assures me that chlorine/chloramine does not touch my fish. and i'm quite forgetful half the time, lol, so i have a certain spot on my kitchen counter that 'safe' buckets of water get placed, so that i know which of my many buckets are mixed and good to go in the tank during water change day.
Thank you all. They seem to be okay this morning. They ate their breakfast and their color looks good. There is 2 and a half gallons of water in their tank so I usually change 2 gallons out and I premix it in a two gallon bucket but for some reason I did the salt and not the dechlor. I am going to just sit the declor on the counter from now on where I can see it.
