Somewhat New: Need Some Help!

Hello! I'm somewhat new to fish keeping and am looking for some advice. I've had two male betta fish for a few months now, one in a heated 2.5 gal tank and the other in a heated 5.5 gal tank. Neither are cycled or filtered, although I do a weekly water change with both. I'm considering cycling the 5gal, but I get nervous thinking about it and am really impatient. However, I recently aquired two ADFs (currently in a hospital tank) and 2 1/2'' nerite snails (i don't have the snails yet) and I've read that ADFs need to have filtration and heating.

I got the frogs yesterday, and today one of the frogs seems to have white fuzz on his back toe. I'm guessing it is fungus, but don't have the meds and am surprised he got sick so early! So I was wondering, should I take the frogs back and cycle the tank before trying them again? Also, I fed the same one last night only to come back a few hours later and see that it had spit out the two frozen bloodworms it had eaten. Is this normal? Do they need to be cut in half or something?

Also, how long does a cycle usually take? I don't have any other aquariums and don't where I would get seeding material...

Sorry this is so long! Just thought I'd give a little background before asking :). Any help would be nice!
