The American Cichlid Association (http://www.aquariacentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=189886) annual convention is July 30-August 2 in Cincinnati, OH. AC and MAN are sponsors for the event and there are tons of great speakers. It would be well worth the trip to network and hear these experienced leaders in the hobby speak.
Also in August, the 5th Annual House of Sam (http://www.aquariacentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=185406) meet in SoCal is the biggest MAN meet of the year. Come out on August 8th for the 5th annual event and see JohnPTC's monster tank in person!
