I have a Rangeri Sword in my 8 Gallon Hex tank that is growing too tall for it. Two of the leaves are protruding from the water's surface. Should I trim these? How? Below the leaves, at the stem?

Will it just take care of itself?

Some of my swords grow too large even in my 100gal. (cordifolius for ex.). I just cut off the outer leaves (these are probably the taller ones anyway--right??). I cut right up to the crown, but only remove the outer leaves. If you only have two leaves touching the surface, I would just remove those 2 leaves. Plant would be healtier too (IMO), because nutrients would be shared by less leaves.

PS--The leaves could also be left alone if you want. They will not go too much out of water, and do no harm.
