Are there any bottom feeders that would work well for breeding tanks? I currently raise angelfish.

Sounds kind of risky putting a bottom feeder in there. Maybe some Oto's would be okay, but anything bigger might disturb or hurt your Angelfish if they realized their slime coat is so delicious. I'd say no to Chinese AE, Plecos, etc. They all would go after your Angels due to having nothing else to suck on.

A lot of discus breeders keep Bristlenose Plecos in their bare-bottom breeding tanks. The thing you have to remember though is plecos and any other bottom feeder or so called clean-up crew needs their own food supply. Many people neglect to properly feed their clean-up crew and they die as a result.

:iagree:
All to often people expect bottom-feeding fish to live off algae or even worse, fish poop, without ever giving them a proper diet. Just don't fall into that trap.

Most serious breeders use species tanks.
I have lots of bottoms feeders in bare bottoms tanks.
I have bred or am breeding assorted plecos and corys in barebottom tanks.
Angels can be very agressive when in spawning and fry rearing mode. Bottom feeders with may be as much at risk are anything.
