Plant Safe glue?

Hey Guys,

I'm trying to attach some Java fern to a large piece of driftwood, We did a test fit on the driftwood to make sure it would fit, now we don't want to take it back out( this is a rather large and awkward tank to work in) I remember people using glues to stick coral to rock, and was wondering if the same thing could be done with ferns and wood. So please recommend any glue that can be applied underwater,has a relatively short curing time,and is fish and plant safe.

never mind, i didn't realize you meant under water. but you could probibly tie it down with fishing line.

That's why i'm trying to find a glue it's to difficult to tie down.

I don't know why super glue wouldn't work. Just do it like you would a frag. small drop on the plant, dip, another small drop on the first drop and then stick it where you want it.

wouldn't super glue not work underwater? you think it would set instantly, with water contact

I know it sounds crazy, but if you have a staple gun handy and the rhizhome isnt too big you can use a staple.

I've been using it with no side effects lol. You just have to make sure you use a paper towel on what ever it is you are using it on to dry it a bit before trying to apply it otherwise it takes A LOT longer to set.

super glue GEL works fine... and will set under water

or you can go to the salty store.. and get some of that Reef Ice stuff

Agree.. super glue GEL works perfectly and won't harm anything. I've used it myself, as well.

When it sets in water, it turns white. So be careful where you apply it.
