Huge fish pond for RTC's

Hi guys, im new to this site, been a member on mfk for a while now so just thought i would share this with you guys too.

Ok im planning a huge pond for my RTC's, i have a few catfish that arent getting any smaller :nilly:

So heres the plan, L/W/H......8'x4'x6'..... all timber with an 6'x2' veiwing window, im going to be using 4x4 fence posts for the build then board the whole inside and coat the lot with liquid rubber. This is a huge project for me so its gonna take some time and a lot of money too. I have a few prices for materials and total cost so far is £760, thats just the wood and the liquid rubber, i need 100 fence posts and 20L of liquid rubber to acheive the monster size of this build.

Its took me nearly 6 months just to decide on how to build this and over those months the size of it has just kept on growing as my plan is to actually go swimming with my catfish 1nce they are huge enough to knock me about a bit

I hear ya all shouting 'ARE YOU NUTS DUDE' lol actually i am a little but we all are arent we? .

Anyway this is where all my updates will be and all future progress of the build so i will try my best to get as many pics and vids up as possible for you guys, this is gona be an awsome build for me so i cant wait to get cracking lol man i even want to start now lol gotta hold back just a little while longer for a few more prices then let the fun begin :devil:

You must be brave, young and energetic. I'm much more of a minimalist now and when considering a pond and I have, I recall a DIY TV show where a pit was dug and pond liner was used with one end deep 4' and one end shallow 1' for easy viewing, came out great for a minimal investment. But of course there would be nothing like a pond size aquarium with huge side viewing if you have the money, time and effort to put into it like you are. Please share with photo's when it done as I'm sure it will be awesome once built.

Im fairly brave, 31yrs old and still feel like a teenager lol

My freind has just done a similar pond to the 1 you are refering to, looks cool, as for money well i dont have much, im not allowed to dip into savings as the wife would kill me but i think if you want something bad enough then you can acheive anything so why not just go for it, i have plenty of time on my hands as i dont work anymore and i will most defo be putting all my effort into this 1. I will have lots of photos to share with you all hopefully it might inspire people to try what i am about to do :dance:
