need 55 gallon diy trim!

As some of you know i got a free 55 gallon aquarium but the trim on the middle brace on the top is snapped in 2 and the bottom trim isnt even there. so what i need to know is how do i make DIY trim for a 48"x12" aquarium? and sugggestions would help!

Call up your LFS and have them order you new trim pieces. relatively inexpensive considering if your DIY trim breaks you can have 55 gallons of water and a lot of fish on the floor.

I'd measure the actual tank size to make sure the new trim will fit. There is a slight variation in dimensions between different brands of aquariums IME.
