My bad, bad pleco girls!

I apologize that the pics aren't any clearer, but it's as close as my close-up mode would let me snap the pic. This is what goes on while I'm out slaving for a living....

I look in the pleco tank to see 4, yes...4 ladies waiting outside the cave for handsome boy #1 to let them in. There was actually one female one top of the other closest to the cave entrance but when I approached the tank she flitted off a little bit.

Last picture.....lonely boy #2....has no ladies waiting, but he's hoping one of them will change their mind and come on over!

He's actually a little bit older, but slower to catch on, he just picked a cave this week.

The ladies love this guy! I can't figure it out. They keep going in and he keeps kicking em out. He spawned once but first spawn wasn't fertile. But that lady is in line again too!

#2 is probably trying to put the voodoo hex on #1 so all the ladies come to his cave!
 
Just as males will fight for prime cave space and for the ladies, the ladies will fight to choose who gets the best or only available male. Ain't nature grand? :-)
