I've done my homework and realized that I need to get Seachum Nitrogen, Phosphorus & Excel ( CO2 Supp.). I already have Seachum Iron, Potassium & Trace Elements. Does that sound about right or do I need to add something else. My lighting system is about 3 watts per gallon and am not worried about the lighting. I also have a quaestion about the Seachum Iron. It said to use an Iron testing kit. Would this be the best thing to do to know when or when not to put in Iron?

Iron testing isn't really necessary. NPK and trace, which are the plant's essential foods will not be too easily taken up by the plants since you don't have regular pressurized co2, but I suppose if you have Flourish excel..which on the other hand..you can try(double doses), but you may still end up with algae since your lighting is pretty high anyhow...you see, the thing is, flourish excel isn't really enough IMO;you want to be able to maintain your co2 (Do-it-yourself CO2 or Pressurized co2 is best) and light level photo periods maintained while feeding your plants with nutrients (NPK & Trace), that way the plants will flourish.

Iron is often included with trace ferts, you may not need more
