i know this has nothing to do with fish, but besides my tanks i'm a space freak... did anyone else just watch the liftoff of atlantis to the hubble telescope? freakin amazing that something that big can get off the ground.....i've promised my grandson that before they retire the shuttles we are going to florida to watch a launch

Nope, I missed it. But you're right, it's amazing that we can get a 100+ ton piece of metal to escape Earth's gravitational field.

I've been watching since Telstar launched. I am always amazed and wonder what it's like.

I like science and science fiction. Guess that's where my sometimes vivid imagination comes from.

Yup very impressive. I was in florida doing some work on one of the solid rocket boosters and got to see the chandra space observatory launch. it was a night launch and was amazing. from 2 miles away you needed sunglasses almost to look at the person next to you. if you get a chance go see it it is well worth the effort.
